Yes Female Breadwinners Are Ruining Society

Fox News recently ran a segment, prompted by the Working Mother Media survey, asking if female breadwinners are ruining society.  Fox & Friends host Clayton Morris suggested, and I quote: “But isn’t there some sort of biological need, innate need for men to be the cavemen. Go out and bring home the dinner and actually go out—Is it emasculating if we don’t do it?”
In fact, Fox has explored this topic before with Host Lou Dobbs and contributor Juan Williams after the Pew Research Institute released a report revealing that there are currently a record number of female breadwinners in the US.  Fox host Lou Dobbs felt pretty strongly about us gals earning more than our guys.  In fact, he boldly forecast that it is a sign of “society dissolv(ing) around us.” which Juan Williams whole heartedly supported, saying it “something going terribly wrong in American society.”

And these men are all correct.  Clayton, Lou, Juan, I am a breadwinning mother and I have every intention of not merely dissolving your version of society but of tearing it to pieces.  In your world men are emasculated by a strong capable woman.  In your world me being an equal partner with my husband is terribly wrong and I should let him club animals more so he can feel like a caveman.  In your world women should get coffee at meetings and not a seat at the decision-making table.

You hit the nail in the head, gentlemen.  For you and every other man of your misogynistic ilk us breadwinning moms are doing our darndest to destroy your version of how us women should behave, where our boundaries should lay, and how we should conduct ourselves. Because you are wrong.  Plain and simple.

And for the rest of the enlightened men and women out there – you know those rebels who don’t think women should be barefoot and pregnant – I’m standing up for our version of society.  Where men and women are partners in life not competitors.  Where being a strong working mom means that I am contributing to a healthy family dynamic.  A world where I am teaching my children that everyone should be taught to be their absolute best and girls shouldn’t hold themselves back because they don’t want to make the boys feel uncomfortable.

And some day dinosaurs like you will be off the airwaves and merely a quaint joke we tell our children.  But until then gentlemen, watch out because you are right, we are coming for you.  Like cave women.
